Departure from the hotel after our breakfast, for a tour in the depths, to discover the daily life of the people in their villages

Our trip will be marked by a few stops to meet and discover.

We will stop at a village in Serrere to interact with the locals, then visit an African bush market in the surrounding area.

An authentic open-air market, organized weekly, where the inhabitants come to buy or sell, and everything happens around barter.

We will walk from the cattle fair to donkeys, horses, sheep, cows, and goats, to traditional medicinal herbs, for a talisman. The other sellers will offer you products for your souvenirs. Next door are vegetables, dried and smoked fish

The Sereer constitute an ethnic group of farmers and fishermen in Senegal.

Mainly Christians, the Serrere still keep their animist beliefs and are the guardians of the sacred grove.

Often in the bush, next to the Serrere, live their neighbors, the Fulani tribes, whom we call the nomads.

This ethnic group can be found in many African countries, and their main activity is herding.

We will pass by the thousand-year-old baobabs with giant termite mounds for a better immersion in life in the bush

Our visits can be crowned, luckily, by attending ceremonies or rituals.

We will then join Joal, a former Portuguese port in the 16th century, and the birthplace of Senghor, the first president of Senegal.

By a wooden bridge, we can access Fadiouth, a small village installed on a pile of shells.

Walk in this traditional village of Serrere to meet and interact with the local population. Visit the cathedral, the market place, the sacred baobab for libations, and on another bridge join the mixed cemetery where Muslims, animists, and Christians are buried side by side ...

By boat, return to the mainland and return to the hotel.

Visit a distillery on the way, with a tasting of palm wine or local liquor

We will have lunch if needed, and route back to Dakar.
