Toubacouta – Fathala Lion walk

Day1:

Breakfast and route for the South East, a long experience way travelling senegal by its length

From the green spaces of the savannah, to the inaccessible land planted with acacia trees, we will often take breaks to share the conviviality of the villages along the way

Once we arrive at the Sine Saloum area we will start our excursion by boat through the mangroves forest to discover the birds island……...

Nestled next to the continental ridge, this delta is an important reserve of biosphere covering a surface of 2 hundred thousand hectares, made of islets, marshy areas, birds houses, and shell islands.

Let us observe the spectacular return of birds to their nests at sunset and back to the hotel for overnight

Day2:

After breakfast in front of the Saloum Delta, we will check out and drive strait in Fathala wildlife reserve,

The Fathala game drive is a natural animal reserve located at the South of Senegal, not far from Gambia border

Let us enjoy a typical African bush experience in an open-air vehicle for two hours Safari.

We will see family herds of the rare West African giant Derby “Lord Derby Eland” or Elk from Cap, only found in this part of the world

Also to be seen are giraffes, rhinoceros, buffalos, warthogs, antelopes, also zebras as well as red and green monkeys.

Fathala is a hotspot for spectacular bird life, as Abyssinian roller, red-billed calao, helmeted guinea fowls, parrots, wood land kingfisher ….

Just aside let us meet the king of the jungle

The ‘’Lion walk’’ is a chance to touch and walk with some tamed lions, that have been raised from a young age.

Accompanied by local guides, we will have less than hour, with the king of the Jungle, a rare opportunity for a great postal card
