The Simal Ecolodge has absolutely everything to please, especially those who want to get away from the tourist areas, without compromising on comfort. Indeed, the accommodation has a well-equipped and clean infrastructure. The meals are hearty and delicious and are served in a very friendly dining room.

The village of Simal is part of the access gates to the Saloum Delta, located in a coastal area, Simal has a rich educational background.

It is a village that straddles the sea and the mainland and was founded by Sounkarou Khalis of the Lineage of Simala, from which the name of the Village originates.

Simal is known as a mystical and mythical village. The protective geniuses of the village such as Sagnanène, Yambala, Kanguel, Packmbel ... are feared and adored by the inhabitants of the village despite the presence of Islam in the locality, where the inhabitants are one hundred percent Muslims, but this does not make them does not prevent them from continuing to live and perpetuate the ritual that the ancestors bequeathed to them.

The name Simal has traveled the world thanks to the pen of the illustrious poet and president Léopold Sédar Senghor. In many of his writings, Senghor refers to Simal.

Another good reason to stay at the Ecolodge de Simal: the activities on offer! Canoe and cart tours, traditional fishing and kayaking in the mangroves are free.

On the road to Niassam, we will make a stop at the Palmarin salt wells

They represent basins dug in the middle of the lagoons, in which very saline water infiltrates from the arm of the sea.

Depending on the high salt content, the colors may change like in watercolor; Yellow, blue, brown, red, pink, green, white...

Palmarin is lost between the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the mangroves to the east, it is halfway between the hills of Niasam

Huts on stilts, huts built into a hill, family huts but also a hut that will remind you of Robinson's hut, completely integrated into a baobab.
