Toubakouta – Fathala Lion walk

Day 1: Arrival - Toubakouta

Breakfast and route for the South East, a long experience way traveling in Senegal by its length

From the green spaces of the savannah to the inaccessible land planted with acacia trees, we will often take breaks to share the conviviality of the villages along the way

Once we arrive at the Sine Saloum area, we will start our excursion by boat through the mangrove forest to discover the birds' island……...

Nestled next to the continental ridge, this delta is an important reserve of the biosphere covering a surface of 2 hundred thousand hectares, made of islets, marshy areas, bird houses, and shell islands.

Let us observe the spectacular return of birds to their nests at sunset and back to the hotel for the night.

Day 2: Fathala Wildlife Reserve

After breakfast in front of the Saloum Delta, we will check out and drive straight to the Fathala wildlife reserve,

The Fathala game drive is a natural animal reserve located in the South of Senegal, not far from the Gambia border.

Let us enjoy a typical African bush experience in an open-air vehicle for two two-hour safaris.

We will see family herds of the rare West African giant Derby “Lord Derby Eland” or Elk from Cap, only found in this part of the world

Also to be seen are giraffes, rhinos, buffalo, warthogs, antelopes, zebras, as well as red and green monkeys.

Fathala is a hotspot for spectacular bird life, as Abyssinian roller, red-billed calao, helmeted guinea fowl, parrots, woodland kingfisher ….

Just aside, let us meet the king of the jungle.

The "Lion walk" is a chance to touch and walk with some tamed lions that have been raised from a young age.

Accompanied by local guides, we will have less than an hour with the king of the Jungle, a rare opportunity for a great postcard.

After these adrenaline rushes, way back to the hotel.
