After breakfast, we head for a city tour of Dakar.

See the Independence Square, the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral “Souvenir African”, the African Renaissance Monument further down, and the Divinity Mosque.

You will be driven to the ferry boarding place for a lifetime visit to the former island of slaves.

Enjoy lunch upon arrival, and then visit the House of Salves where the curator will remind you of the dark days of slavery.

Visit the different cells in which they used to live, visit the slaves' weighing room, the cell for the children, for the men, and the ladies

Let us walk down the hallway to the No Return door.

Once out of the House of Slaves, we will walk around the tiny island up to the most elevated part of the island (the Castle) to catch a nice view of Dakar.

We will see the Island Memorial and the remnants of cannons dating back to the Second World War.

Walk down to the Historical Museum, a place where you will discover the history around Goree and Senegal as well.

In the late afternoon, get back to Dakar with the ferry

After breakfast, drive to the salty waters of the Pink Lake situated in the Niayes region in the North of Dakar.

Visit the salt harvesters and interact with them.

Let us sail by boat or float on the pink waters, the same feeling we can get on the Dead Sea

At lunchtime, you can enjoy your “Chicken Yassa, before driving to the desert.

Nestled between the Eucalyptus forest and the Atlantic Ocean south of StLouis, Lompoul is a magnificent desert of yellow and pink sandy dunes.

We will stop at the Fulani village to change locomotion means and be transferred to the camp by some Jeeps

Enjoy the sunset before dinner; attend a Djembé folk dance show, followed by a mint tea tasting around a campfire

Overnight in comfortable Moorish tents

Day 3: Lompoul Desert– Joal Fadiouth – Saly

Before breakfast, it is a fine moment to have a view of the dunes and sunshine and drive to the South. Joal, the gates of Sine Saloum Delta, is also the town of former President Leopold Sedar Senghor.

Lunch and visit the little village of Fadiouth, which is the best witness of the harmony in which the Muslims and the Christians live as good neighbors.

Visit the shell-paved cemetery where both religious communities are buried side by side. From that place, catch a nice view of the Saloum Rivers.

Visit the Church and then stop at the sacred baobab, a place of rituals and libations

Route back to Saly and overnight.
